THE CLEAN ROOM
A cleanroom is an enclosed space in which the concentration of airborne particles is controlled via laminar flow to minimize the production and retention of particles inside the room.
Technological advances have obliged the microelectronics industry to work in clean rooms, as the engraving fineness becomes ever smaller. A clean room is a significant advantage, as it maximizes the chances of success when working on a hard disk. However, it also comes at a financial cost (specific equipment, maintenance, etc.) and in terms of working time (an intervention in a cleanroom takes on average 6 times longer than if the operation were carried out outside a cleanroom).
